Internet Line Speed Test

Before you embark (or even if you already have) on your Online Backup Service journey you are going to want to test your Internet Line Speed. The speed of your internet line will have a significant impact on how fast (and sometimes if) your documents and files can be uploaded or downloaded. Many want to blame the Online Backup services for the inadequacy of their own internet line speed.

We use kb for kilobit and KB for kilobyte (dial meter low end and test results). We use m for Megs (dial meter high end). 384 kbps (384k on dial meter) is the speed of a average DSL line. Anything below this speed and you probably would be best not using any Data Online Backup Service.
