Using innovative Secure Peer-to-Peer technology that automatically synchronizes all your devices (home PC, office PC, laptop), BeInSync ensures that wherever you go, your data will follow. Simply install BeInSync on each of your PCs, choose what you’d like to synchronize (your files, desktop, emails, contacts or Internet favorites) and you’re ready to go. From now on, any change made on one PC will automatically be reflected on your other PCs. And what’s more, you can easily share data with others. Simply create ‘Shares’ and invite others to join these shares. Any file added to a share will automatically be synchronized and backed up online among all the share’s participants.

When the initial version of BeInSync made its debut a couple years back, it proved to be a very convenient alternative to remote-control apps like Citrix Online’s GoToMyPC. It not only provided Web-based remote access, it actually synchronized files, e-mail, contacts, and bookmarks across multiple machines, making sure your important data was always where you needed it—right in front of you. When you launch Version 1.5, a new wizard now pops up offering to walk you through setup for each of the app’s three functions. You can quickly create a “private share,” synchronizing data between up to three of your own machines. You can just as easily create a “group share,” sharing files with other BeInSync users. Or you can configure a system for remote access, making data available from any browser on the Web.
The app now integrates with Windows Explorer, so you can just as easily create shares by right-clicking on almost any folder. The original version of BeInSync was far from complicated, but with the new version, even the greenest of computer users can create shares in a matter of moments. The company claims that the new version of the app is 250 percent faster than earlier versions, and there is indeed a noticeable difference. But the app still drags a bit when used on older PCs. Of course interent line speed will play a role in transfer time. I would pay close attention to the recommended system specs before installing.
